This project was conducted to participate in—and ultimately win—the Kakao and Korea Tourism Organization Tourism Data API Competition.

The team consisted of full-time professionals and graduate students, and the project was developed as a side project during evenings and weekends. Over a total of 13 weeks, we completed three sprint iterations, followed by an additional three weeks dedicated to Google Play Store deployment, submission material preparation, presentation material development, and the final presentation.

Reflection

Reflection

Before submitting our contest entry, we set several internal goals with the aim of winning:

  1. Complete a high-quality, high-fidelity application and launch it in the store before the judging.

  2. Develop impactful service features that directly address real problems.

  3. Prove sustainable business model by demonstrating market viability.

With only 16 weeks, seamless teamwork was essential. Any misalignment or resource leakage could be critical to achieving our goals. To stay connected, we held daily scrums via Slack messages, sharing brief bullet-point updates on tasks, current challenges, and overall progress. We also conducted weekly Zoom and in-person meetings to align our status and progress. Additionally, we set aside core coworking hours to work together in real time.

Thanks to the right collaboration strategies, attitudes, and an amazing team, I spent 16 weeks actively engaging with my teammates, continuously developing the product, understanding and fulfilling each other's requirements, and experiencing a positive and exciting cycle of growth. This experience will serve as a valuable asset in my next career phase, helping me better understand new colleagues and foster synergy in future collaborations. 🚀
